Alexandra Bensamoun is a professor of private law and criminal sciences at the University of Paris-Saclay, where she created and directs the Master 2/LLM "Fundamental Intellectual Property and Digital Technologies", in co-education with Laval University (Quebec) and the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain). Appointed as a "qualified personality" at the CSPLA (Conseil Supérieur de la Propriété Littéraire et Artistique, French Ministry of Culture), where she led several missions - notably on the responsibility of technical intermediaries, on the right of communication to the public, on artificial intelligence and culture, and on text and data mining -, she is also an expert for UNESCO on the 2005 Convention on the diversity of cultural expressions. She is the author of numerous individual and collective research projects, including a treatise on the law of artificial intelligence. Involved in research networks, she is vice-president of the French branch of ALAI (and member of the executive committee of the international association), associate researcher at OBVIA and member of the executive committee of the DATAIA Institute of Paris-Saclay University.
